PlayStation 3 | Singularity warps to June 29
Raven Software's time-manipulating shooter locked in for early summer release on 360, PS3, PC.
Time is a major concern with Activision's latest all-new property Singularity, specifically when it comes to a release date. Originally slated for fall 2009, Raven Software's shooter was bumped early in 2010, giving it some distance from Activision's juggernaut-in-waiting, not to mention controversy-plagued, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Later, Activision again time-warped the game's release, bumping it this time to June.
Now, Singularity's time-hopping appears to have come to a close. According to a new trailer posted on GTTV, the game will arrive for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on June 29. Singularity is the latest from Raven, which released the positively reviewed Wolfenstein and X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2009.
In Singularity, gamers play as Nate, an air force pilot who, in the early parts of the game, is scrambled to investigate some strange happenings on an island off the coast of Russia. After Nate's plane crashes, he discovers a mysterious time-manipulation device and must use it to unlock the mysteries of the island while staying alive in the process. Oddly enough, the device also effects time-traveling complications where the game bounces between 2010 and 1950.
