PlayStation 3 | BioShock 2 DLC delayed

PlayStation 3 | BioShock 2 DLC delayed

Launch of Rapture Metro Pack pushed back to undetermined date for Xbox 360, PS3, PC; $10 add-on to include six new maps, new achievements, incentive for maxed-out players to start from scratch.

Last week, Xbox Live director of programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb said on his blog that BioShock 2 would be receiving a second injection of downloadable content this week. The major apparently received some bad intel, as 2K Games announced today that the content will not be available this week after all. No new release window was given.

When it does see release, the Rapture Metro Pack will include six new multiplayer maps for the game, some of them adapting locations from the single-player mode. It will also include three new achievements (trophies in the PlayStation 3 version of the add-on) and a Rebirth feature, providing players who've maxed out the multiplayer's level 50 character cap a reason to start from scratch. Gamers who hit level 50 can reset their rank to level one and receive a special mask in the process.

The Rapture Metro Pack will sell for $10 or 800 Microsoft points. For more on the game itself, check out GameSpot's review of BioShock 2.
