PSP | Prinny sequel prodding Japan in 2010

PSP | Prinny sequel prodding Japan in 2010

Nippon Ichi's Disgaea spin-off action platformer for PSP heading to island nation next year; US release TBD.

To answer the question its title begged to ask, Prinny really could be a hero in Nippon Ichi Software's critically lauded PSP action platformer released in the US earlier this year. Billed as the most "challenging side-scrolling action game ever," Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? functioned as a spin-off to NIS' well-regarded turn-based strategy franchise Disgaea, giving the adorably amoral penguins a chance to play protagonist.

Today, NIS America confirmed for GameSpot that a sequel to Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? will be available in Japan in 2010. Unfortunately, the representative said that while NISA is "definitely interested in localizing Prinny 2," it has yet to be determined when the game will see a US release.

NIS did not reveal any other details regarding Prinny 2. However, the publisher did note that Japanese gamers will be able to pick up a discounted "Best" version of Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? in Japan beginning November 26.
