PlayStation 3 | Music stars align with Activision

Soundgarden to release their first track in 13 years exclusively in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock; Eminem to do his part for Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Usher, Eminem, Soundgarden, Pharrell Williams, Jane's Addiction, Deadmau5, and Z-Trip are just some of the artists to feature in Activision's upcoming games, the publisher announced today. Call of Duty: Black Ops, DJ Hero 2, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and True Crime: Hong Kong are all set to get the superstar treatment, with some featuring new or unreleased tracks.

Pharrell is lending his talents to True Crime.

The biggest release comes from recently reformed rock-stars Soundgarden, who will debut their unreleased song "Black Rain", exclusively in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. This will be the first track the band has released together since their breakup in 1997. Soundgarden will feature alongside previously announced artists such as Jane's Addiction, A Perfect Circle, Black Sabbath, and Megadeth.

R&B star Usher's hit "OMG," will be one of the new tracks featured in DJ Hero 2, alongside producer David Guetta and progressive house producer Deadmau5. Mashup legend Z-Trip will also be lending two exclusive new mixes to the game, having consulted on its development. They follow in the footsteps of Metallica, Kanye West, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and The Chemical Brothers, whom Activision confirmed would be in the game last week.

Finally, two of hip-hop's biggest stars have lent their talents to Activison's action titles. True Crime: Hong Kong will feature the legendary beats of producer and musician Pharrell Williams, of Neptunes fame. He will be collaborating with singer Rhea, who has previously collaborated with Williams, singing in his band N.E.R.D. Gamers will also be able to enjoy the soothing sounds of Eminem, as a track from his upcoming album "Recovery" will be part of Call of Duty: Black Ops. The rapper's tracks featured heavily in the previous incarnation of DJ Hero, alongside Jay-Z.
